This past Sunday night was the biggest night in music. The 54th Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Bruce Springsteen opened the show with a performance followed by host LL Cool J starting a prayer for Whitney Houston. The cameras scanned the crowd showing each and every celebrity of the music industry lowering their heads in prayer. This could possibly be one of the most heartfelt Grammy moments in recent history. Jennifer Hudson later did a tribute to Houston performing her version of "I Will Always Love You." I think she did a great job! Bruno Mars also took the stage during the opening segment, performing his song "Runaway Baby" followed by Alicia Keys doing a tribute to Etta James. The first award of the night went to Adele, beating out Lady Gaga for best pop solo performance. I must say I was shocked that Lady Gaga didn't win and also very happy for Adele who I really think deserved to win after mentioning how her doctors brought her voice back after having surgery. She is very talented and humble. It was definitely her year, as she seemed to win every Grammy she was nominated for including the major categories like record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year. I didn't think the performances were too good this year. I liked the Maroon 5 and Beach Boys performance with Foster The People only because I'm such a huge Maroon 5 fan! David Guetta's performance with Deadmau5, Chris Brown, Foo Fighters and Lil Wayne was also very entertaining and an interesting collaboration mixed with a few different genres. Lady Gaga's outfit was weird as usual but at least she didn't perform something crazy this year. However, Nicki Minaj's performance was on a whole other level. Not sure if that was a performance or a horror movie. She showed a video clip about an exorcism and I just thought the whole performance was really bizarre including her costumes. Is she trying too hard to copy off of Lady Gaga, or is that just me? Although I'm not a big fan of country music I really enjoyed the performance with Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. They sounded amazing despite Aldean's mic going out right at the end. Lady Antebellum, another country band I really like won the award for country album. Another shocker of the night was the winner of the Best New Artist award. Bon Iver, whom I've never heard of before, took the award beating out The Bandy Perry, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and Skrillex. Fans were ranting all over Twitter about the disappointment and shock of this artist beating those favored to win which were either Skrillex or Nicki Minaj. Overall, I thought it was a good show and I did enjoy watching it but I feel like I've seen better Grammy shows over the years. I wish more of my favorite artists would've performed! What were your favorite moments of the show? Did your favorite singers win or were you completely disappointed? What about the outfits on the red carpet? Did anyone really stand out in a good or bad way?

Congrats to Adele on all of her awards!
Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson
Adam Levine and his girlfriend, too bad he's taken!
Really Gaga? What was she thinking?
I thought Fergie's dress was so tacky! Ewww!
Katy Perry's dress is pretty but the blue hair is a little too much.
Nicki Minaj's Grammy performance which featured a dancing priest, a faux exorcism, and a female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy prayed between her legs, offended the Catholic Church.
And People thought Lady Gaga was weird...
Here's the performance in case you missed it!
Definitely a lot of entertainment. I enjoyed The Beach Boys performing with Maroon 5 and Foster the People.
